Tajin Ranch Water

Tequila cocktail with Topo Chico, lime, agave nectar in a Tajin rimmed glass

  • 1 oz fresh lime juice juice from approx. 1.5 limes
  • 2 oz tequila blanco/silver are my preference
  • 1 tsp agave nectar plus extra to rim glass with Tajin
  • 4 oz Topo Chico +/- 1oz - volume will depend on glass size
  • Tajin seasoning for rim of glass
  • lime wedges for garnish


  • Squeeze a drop of agave nectar on your finger and smear it around the rim of your cocktail glass.
  • Pour a thin layer of Tajin seasoning onto a small plate. Turn your agave rimmed glass upside down and press the rim into the Tajin seasoning, twisting to coat the whole rim.
  • Pour tequila, one tsp agave nectar and lime juice into the bottom of your glass and give it a stir.
  • Fill your glass to the top with ice.
  • Pour Topo Chico into your glass to fill it to the top and give the whole glass a stir.
  • Garnish with fresh lime.


If you are making a large batch of Tajin Ranch Water Cocktails multiply the tequila, agave and lime juice by the number of drinks you are making and mix that quantity in a pitcher. Pour the tequila mixture into the bottom of your Tajin lined cocktail glasses. When you are ready to serve fill each glass with ice and top with Topo Chico and fresh limes.
